Author’s Note: The content in this post is my own. I refuse to resort to Voldemort-like ways and can assure you that I have not read anything from the leaked copies of the Deathly Hallows making rounds of the Internet. I prefer to have the physical copy of the book and I have pre-ordered not one but *two* copies from Amazon. So go ahead, enjoy the post…and conjure up your own theories.

Harry Potter book 7 comes out tomorrow (July 21, 12:01 am) and if the bookstore wallahs had their way, then you would probably hear them say in their best ring-announcer voices –

“Layh–dees and gentlemen…welcome to the main event!”

Like many other readers and avid followers of the Harry Potter series, I am eagerly waiting to find out what happens next in the life of a young wizard at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. And as Jo(she prefers Jo to JK) Rowling has promised more deaths in the final episode of the series, there have been many speculations on whether Harry is the one to perish.

My predictions on the matter –

1. Harry LIVES…
2. …and so does Hermione (Her-my-oh-knee) and Ron (and their seven kids) and Neville and Seamus and Luna
3. Kreecher dies(He’s the meanest house elf…ever! He has to go)…Dobby kills him
4. …and then dies while trying to save Harry Potter from Lucius Malfoy’s curse
5. Neville avenges his parents’ deaths (read: kills Bellatrix) and goes on to become the Herbology professor at Hogwarts
6. Lupin dies along with Mad Eye Moody…Snape kills them both
7. Snape kills Malfoy, Sr., saves Malfoy, Jr. (remember Snape’s promise to Narcissa in book 6) and is killed by the Dark Lord…who gets annihilated by Harry

Far-from-being-true predictions –

• Dumbledore comes back like the other wizard Gandalf (these guys don’t die easily)
• Aunt Petunia is a Death Eater. Why? In Jo’s own words “There’s more to Aunt Petunia than meets the eye.”
• Harry gets back with Ginny…and becomes the Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher at Hogwarts for 8 years
• Jo Rowling comes back with Harry Potter Book 8 in 2015…remember, Malfoy, Jr…he’s the new Voldie on the block (the boy who really lived!!!)…
